Nutrion Lab

The Nutrition Lab is designed to help students gain practical knowledge and skills in planning, preparing, and serving therapeutic diets for patients of different age groups and health conditions. It is well-equipped with modern kitchen appliances, cooking utensils, dietetic charts, models, and display materials. Students are trained in diet planning, menu preparation, and nutritional assessment, enabling them to provide effective dietary counseling and nutritional care in both hospital and community settings.

CHN - Lab Activities

The Community Health Nursing Lab is well-equipped with 120 bags, health education materials, and AV aids to support student learning. Students develop skills in community health assessment and provide care to individuals, families, and the community through supervised home visits. Activities include vital signs monitoring, urine tests, Hb estimation, wound dressing, injections, baby bath, antenatal, postnatal, newborn, and geriatric assessments.

Pre-Clinical Science Lab

The Pre-Clinical Science Lab provides students with foundational knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and microbiology. It is equipped with models, specimens, microscopes, charts, and other teaching aids to facilitate effective learning. The lab enables students to correlate theoretical concepts with practical experience, preparing them for advanced clinical practice.

Obstetrics & Gynecological Nursing Lab and Child Health Nursing Lab

The department trains students in women’s health, reproductive health, high-risk pregnancy, neonatal, and child care. The MCH Lab is equipped with delivery and pediatric cots, simulators, models, and instruments for demonstrations, enabling students to practice antenatal, postnatal, newborn assessments, and labor procedures with confidence before clinical application.

The Audio-Visual Aids Lab is equipped with modern teaching and learning resources such as LCD projectors, television, DVD players, charts, models, posters, and other instructional materials. It provides students with training in the effective use of audio-visual aids for health education and classroom teaching. Nursing Foundation Lab

The Nursing Foundation Lab is spacious, well-furnished, and equipped with 7 mannequins (including simulators and a CPR model), OT instruments, and demonstration trays. It provides hands-on training for basic and advanced nursing procedures, helping students develop clinical skills and a professional culture of care.

Career Opportunities

Career Opportunities

GNM graduates can work as Staff Nurses, Ward Supervisors, Community Health Workers, Home Nurses, and more. It also opens pathways to pursue higher education like Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, B.Sc Nursing (Lateral Entry), and other healthcare-related programs.

After completion, students are eligible for positions such as Staff Nurse, Nursing Officer, Nurse Educator, Community Health Nurse, and may pursue postgraduate studies like M.Sc Nursing or specializations. Opportunities also exist in international healthcare systems.
